Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships, this role is responsible for the development and delivery of growth strategies and operational plans for the public and academic sectors that align closely with ventureLAB’s goals and signature programs, ensuring the short and long-term sustainability of the organization.
The Director also has the mandate to build a pipeline of new foreign direct investment focused partnerships to attract a global cluster of technology-based companies and talent to York Region, helping build innovation capacity and job creation.
The successful candidate will possess a strong business development and relationship management mindset, and be able to convert strategic goals into revenue generating opportunities and programs. Proven experience negotiating contracts and agreements, and a track record of meeting or exceeding KPI’s and deliverables are also key.
The Director should be a strong leader and communicator, with the capability to develop and deliver effective business presentations to potential partners, showcasing their ability to clearly articulate the ventureLAB value proposition.
The role also requires a demonstrated ability to collaboratively build transparent and trusted working relationships, both internally and externally, manage complex projects and competing priorities, as well as track, report, and optimize the performance of contracted partner engagements and programs.
