Position Profile

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Manager, Data and Analytics balances strategic vision with hands-on execution. They’ll bring a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics; complementing conceptual thinking skills with a strong quantitative mindset. While owning ventureLAB’s Salesforce ecosystem and analytical platform, they’ll manage ventureLAB’s data and reporting schedules and improve process scalability through automations and improvements. 

With Salesforce, the role goes beyond administration, the Manager, Data and Analytics will proactively identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and better data governance, driving impact across founder success, business development and marketing teams. They’ll love solving complex problems, fine-tuning processes, and making Salesforce work smarter—not harder. They won’t just solve technical problems—they will anticipate stakeholder needs, provide proactive support, and ensure every enhancement adds real value.

The Manager, Data and Analytics is also responsible for oversight and delivery of the organization's Quarterly Business Review and other key quantitative reporting activities. They will be an active champion of the RIVIR culture and develop the Business Analysis team in line with ventureLAB's mission.

Responsibilities

Analytics and Reporting

  • Practice cross-departmental collaboration to support ventureLAB’s data collection and analysis efforts.
  • Use analytical and quantitative methods to analyze performance, identify problems, and develop recommendations that support each functional team’s pursuit of ventureLAB’s mission.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track key business and performance metrics.
  • Support organizational reporting and data requirements and actively work to improve the execution of key repetitive deliverables.
  • Establish and refine best practices for data governance and data integrity.

Salesforce

  • Develop and maintain ventureLAB’s Salesforce ecosystem through automations and improvements in support of key strategic priorities and activities.
  • Train and support broader ventureLAB team on Salesforce functionality and best practices.
  • Drive adoption and manage stakeholder expectations for Salesforce changes,
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Salesforce functionality and user experience.
  • Improve Salesforce user experience to increase user adoption and use
  • Maintain data integrity and practice good governance through automations, validation rules, and proactive system maintenance.
  • Design scalable reports and dashboards that give teams real-time insights to drive decisions
  • Develop a deep understanding of founder success, business development and marketing challenges in order to design systems that enhance their workflows, reduce friction, and help them perform at their best.
  • Understand how different processes connect, ensuring Salesforce doesn’t just work in silos but drives efficiency across teams.
  • Build and optimize flows, layouts, apex code and other automations to improve efficiency.
  • Lead testing and deployment of Salesforce updates, managing releases effectively.
  • Continuously identify underutilized features and design best-practice solutions to enhance ventureLAB’s Salesforce environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce administration and Salesforce process 
  • Industry expertise in the innovation ecosystem and/or in a start-up or other high-growth environment. 
  • Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of ownership with ability to proactively communicate and thoughtfully prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams across the organization
  • Understanding of data architecture, governance, and security best practices
  • Salesforce Admin certification is an Asset
  • Experience/familiarity with GSuite, Formstack and Tableau

Salary & Benefits 

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 CAD per annum. In addition to salary, ventureLAB offers:

Our Hybrid Work Structure

At ventureLAB, we have a hybrid work model that balances flexibility for employees with opportunities for in-office collaboration. This position is eligible for remote work. All ventureLAB team members, regardless of hybrid status, are required on-site each Thursday and for events, meetings and other in-person activities.
