Markham, ON – February 26, 2026 – ventureLAB has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangzhou Baiyun International Investment Development Co., Ltd (Baiyun International) to establish a technology business accelerator in Baiyun District, expanding commercialization pathways for Canadian high-growth hardtech and deep technology companies, while strengthening cross-border innovation collaboration.

As the global community marks the Lunar New Year, the partnership will support the development of a dedicated accelerator platform designed to attract high-tech enterprises, accelerate industrial upgrading, and enhance industrial competitiveness. For ventureLAB companies, the initiative provides structured access to international markets, investment networks, and advanced manufacturing ecosystems — critical enablers for scaling advanced technologies.

“This agreement reflects ventureLAB’s commitment to building international bridges that accelerate commercialization,” said Hugh Chow, CEO of ventureLAB. “When Canadian founders gain access to global markets, capital, and partners, innovation moves beyond the lab and into real-world commercial impact.”

Expanding Commercialization and Global Market Access

Through the agreement, ventureLAB will introduce high-potential technology companies to Baiyun District while supporting enterprises in Baiyun seeking to expand internationally. The accelerator will provide workspace, ecosystem integration, and administrative support to help reduce market entry barriers and accelerate time-to-scale.

The partnership also includes:

  • Dedicated incubation space in Baiyun District for ventureLAB-introduced companies
  • Joint development of a two-storey incubation hub in Hong Kong, providing additional international business support
  • Collaboration with the Baiyun Investment Fund to connect scaling companies with capital and growth financing
  • Administrative and operational support to streamline entry and establishment processes for participating companies

By integrating international resources and innovation networks, the accelerator is designed to improve startup success rates, reduce operational friction, and foster long-term industrial competitiveness.

Strengthening Innovation Ecosystems in Both Regions

For Baiyun District, the partnership supports its goal of attracting high-technology enterprises and accelerating industrial modernization through access to ventureLAB’s global hardtech ecosystem.

“By leveraging the power of our respective ecosystems, this agreement unlocks tremendous international growth opportunities for both of our innovation communities,” said Deng Peng, Investment Director of Baiyun International.

The cooperation aims to promote regional economic and social development by establishing a technology business accelerator in Baiyun District. Leveraging the strengths of both parties, it will drive urban development and enhance industrial competitiveness in Baiyun District, attracting high-tech and innovative enterprises and accelerating industrial upgrading. Simultaneously, the accelerator will support local enterprises in expanding into overseas markets and strengthening their brand influence and international competitiveness by  introducing international resources and networks. This cooperation will further promote the development of both parties.

For ventureLAB and its portfolio companies, the initiative provides expanded access to international customers, partners, advanced manufacturing capacity, and growth capital — helping Canadian companies scale globally while strengthening their competitiveness at home. The agreement serves as a framework for future project-specific accelerator programming and investment collaboration.
