Sophia Chan-Combrink

Sophia Chan-Combrink is the Chief Administrative Officer at ventureLAB, where she leads the organization’s strategic and operational functions. Building on her previous role as Vice President, External Relations, she continues to oversee government relations, public sector partnerships, and academic engagement, while also leading People and Culture, Board governance and secretarial functions, and enterprise-wide administration, including finance and G&A.

With over 20 years of senior leadership experience across Canada and Asia, Sophia has held executive roles in both governmental and non-profit sectors. She brings deep expertise in policy, corporate communications, and organizational strategy, having advised corporations and governments on complex, high-impact initiatives.

Prior to joining ventureLAB, Sophia served as Executive Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. She also held senior leadership roles at the British Council, including Head of Education and Society in Hong Kong and Deputy Director of Education for East Asia.

Throughout her career, Sophia has collaborated with leading global organizations such as the World Bank, IUCN, and Environment Canada, advancing initiatives in social innovation, public policy, and gender equity. Her cross-sector experience and strategic leadership continue to strengthen ventureLAB’s mission and growth.
