ventureLAB Announces 8 Finalists Ahead of HardTech Pitch Competition

ventureLAB is thrilled to unveil the eight finalists who will be taking center stage at the highly-anticipated HardTech Pitch Competition on November 9, 2023 at Toronto Marriott Markham. This unique competition is exclusively open to small and medium enterprises in Canada who are pioneering breakthrough products and innovations in hardware technology for a chance to win a collective $50,000 in cash prizes.

The third-annual HardTech Summit, in partnership with York Region, is set to be Canada's premier technology and innovation-focused event of the year diving deep into the world of Hardware, Semiconductor, MedTech, AI, and Automobility.

For the very first time, ventureLAB received an impressive 46 applications from companies across the country, demonstrating the growing commitment within Canada's hardware innovation sector. HardTech Summit promises to be an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their technology to a diverse audience, including industry experts, investors, government representatives, media, and more

Without further ado, here are the eight companies that have been shortlisted to present their groundbreaking ideas and projects:

  1. Applied Brain Research

Applied Brain Research, Inc. is pioneering a new era of low-power, cloud-independent devices with groundbreaking AI processors and a proprietary, patented algorithm, the Legendre Memory Unit . 

  1. Able Innovations

Able Innovations is using robotics to solve healthcare’s most labour-intensive task: patient transfer.

  1. Digitho

Digitho’s solution is integrated into the lithography process in semiconductor manufacturing and is the first company in the industry to bring this innovative solution via the programmable photomask (patented).  

  1. Enertics

Enertics is a Milton, Ontario based technology company providing Industrial IOT solutions to customers with a vision to lead the innovations in industrial asset monitoring and management technologies.

  1. Hygienic Echo

Hygienic Echo is a rapidly growing company with a technologically and socially innovative and informed approach to infection prevention to reduce infection transmission risks, preserve lives, and save costs. 

  1. Just Vertical

Just Vertical’s indoor gardens fuse the cutting-edge science of vertical farming with midcentury modern design to create beautiful indoor gardens for your home, office, and warehouse. 

  1. Longan Vision

Longan Vision focuses on the design and manufacture of enhanced vision and communication devices providing engineered products to face extreme challenges to enhance communication and efficiency.

  1. Steadiwear

Steadiwear builds novel stabilization technology designed to reduce hand tremors, allowing the user to age in place while improving their quality of life & independence.
