Susan McLean of Ideas 2 Hatch retained by ventureLAB to scale operations and drive long-term strategic growth.
(Markham, ON) ventureLAB, Canada’s leading innovation hub for hardware technology and enterprise software, is pleased to have retained Susan McLean, CFA, and Founder of Ideas 2 Hatch (i2H) as Senior Consultant, Operations. Prior to founding i2H, Susan served as Vice President of Program Operations at MaRS Discovery District, where she sat on the executive team and led enterprise-wide initiatives to improve founder experience, operational efficiency, and organizational alignment.
With deep expertise in scaling innovation-driven organizations, Susan will focus on strengthening ventureLAB’s internal operations and strategic capacity to support Canada’s fast-growing HardTech sector. She will lead a strategic review of the organization’s operational infrastructure to ensure it scales effectively alongside its growing global mandate and ensure the organization amplifies impact for Canada’s most ambitious founders.

With over two decades of experience across finance, cleantech, public policy, and technology commercialization, Susan brings a systems-level perspective to organizational growth. She is well known for leading cross-functional teams, architecting high-impact programs, and aligning operations with strategic imperatives.
“There is so much buzz in the sector right now with how ventureLab is driving impactful results, that I am truly excited to be working with this team,” said McLean who has previously held senior roles with a national investment fund, TMX Group, and the Government of Ontario, and is also currently a Senior Advisor with Northguide Inc which advises innovation organizations across Canada.
Throughout her career, Susan has secured more than $150 million in funding for mission-driven ventures and non-profits and has served on numerous boards and investment committees including the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, SVX, and Access Community Capital Fund. She is widely recognized for her work advancing inclusive innovation and sustainable technology adoption.
