Alan Ho

Regional Councillor & Chair of Economic Development Committee

City of Markham

Alan Ho has a degree in Business Administration from York University. He was first elected to Markham Council in 2010 and is now serving his 4th term as Regional Councillor of York Region and the City of Markham. He is currently also serving as the Chair of the Culture and Economic Development Committee at the City of Markham. Prior to being elected to the Markham Council in 2010, Alan served in a number of volunteer capacities on the various government, community, and charity organizations and committees.

Alan has earned a number of awards and accolades for his dedication and demonstrated community and public service:

· Valued Volunteer of the Year in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2009 by the Federal Government

· Recipient of the International Year of Volunteers in 2001 by the Federal Government

· Certificate of Appreciation for Volunteering in 2003 by the Federal Government

· Recipient of the 5-year Community Service Award in 2008 by the Provincial Government

· Outstanding Member of Scarborough & York Chinese Business Association in 2009

· World Baden-Powell Fellow in 2010 by Scouts Canada

· Named a Top 25 Canadian Immigrant in 2011

· Received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025
